Web-SIG
There is now a
Python Web-SIG. From
the charter:
The Python Web SIG is dedicated to improving Python's support for
interacting with World Wide Web services and clients.
I would encourage interested people to
join the mailing list. My personal agenda is for the Python standard library to include some
form of request and response object.

People still treat the web-sig like it's a new thing. It's not.
There was one before. Hopefully someone has brought this up and its
archives can be looked through.
But the old Web-SIG is really old. One of the later messages
is something like "Those guys at Digital Creations are working on
some neat stuff, maybe something good will come out of it..." A
lot has happened since then, obviously. There's still a lot
of background to understand, but the most relevant has happened
outside of the old web-sig.
