Ian Bicking: the old part of his blog


If I was able just to prentend that current stdlib never release and I could do anything on it's codebase before releasing to public I would:

1. put it into hierarchical namespace
2. make naming style consistent
3. make functional/OO style consistent
4. purge/rework a lot of current modules

Of course, I realize that this would require a huge resources and would never be accepted by the community.

Obviously we need a strategy to actually improve on stdlib but I'm not sure if it's exist after all.
